My Mother’s Journey: March 10, 1956 – August 2, 2008
September 28, 2005 my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She went through surgery shortly thereafter, and finished chemo in March of 2006. On April 2, 2007, we learned that the cancer had returned. The last week of April brought with it a more extensive surgery than last time. She underwent more treatments.
From January 2008, my mom was in and out of the hospital due to obstructions and other complications; which meant another surgery on March 6th, with another surgery that followed 10 days later due to a serious abdominal infection from her previous surgery. My mom went through other complications, infections, and long hospitalizations. On August 2nd, 2008, the Lord saw fit to call our sweet and precious Colleen Home. We were blessed to have her at home the last 6 weeks of her time on earth. She desired most to be with her family at home, and we were thankful she was able to have her heart’s desire. We would continue to covet your prayers as we adjust to life without our Colleen.
